**Starting salary**:$118,609 - $143,726** + superannuation**

**The role | Te tūnga**

We are seeking a values driven Data Ethics Advisor with a strong understanding of Te Ao Māori to guide ethical data practices across our organisation. This role ensures that data governance, AI development, and digital transformation initiatives uphold tikanga, protect Māori data sovereignty, and foster trust with iwi, hapū, and Māori communities.

This role would suit someone who can bring:

- Experience at turning complex ideas into plain English
- Experience in a similar role that worked across different organisations and communities
- An understanding of data ethics guidance, such as Ngā Tikanga Paihere and the Algorithm Charter
- Examples of where you've worked with Māori, iwi, hapū and Tiriti partners
- Understanding of the machinery of government and related processes and procedures
