At Spectrum Care, we proudly support children, young people, and adults with disabilities—as well as their whānau—on their journey toward lives filled with choice, inclusion, and possibility. We believe in daring to dream and building communities where everyone belongs. Our vision is simple yet powerful: _Every person with a disability deserves a life of choice, freedom, and independence._
**About the Role - Service Coordinator**
As a Service Coordinator, you will play a vital leadership role in the delivery of supported living services. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of homes where disabled individuals—particularly children and young people—receive care and support. This includes managing staff, ensuring safe and nurturing environments, and fostering a culture of respect, empowerment, and inclusion.
Your work will involve close collaboration with families and whānau to understand the unique needs, aspirations, and challenges of each child. You'll coordinate personalised support plans that promote independence, emotional wellbeing, and social engagement. This may include facilitating access to education, therapies, recreational activities, and community participation. You'll also monitor health, behavioural, and developmental outcomes, working alongside health professionals, educators, and other specialists to ensure services are responsive, high-quality, and tailored to each individual.
This role requires a compassionate and proactive approach, with a strong commitment to safeguarding, advocacy, and continuous improvement. You'll be a key figure in helping children with disabilities thrive—not just in their homes, but in their wider communities.
As a Service Coordinator, you'll:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of supported living homes
- Lead and support a team of dedicated staff
- Coordinate a School Holiday Programme including venue, staff, and students
- Monitor health, wellbeing, and lifestyle outcomes for the people we support
- Facilitate connections for the people we support with the community
- Collaborate with whānau and health professionals to deliver high-quality, individualised services
- Manage budgets and resources effectively
**What You'll Bring**
- A Diploma or Bachelor's in Human Services, or a related field (e.g. psychology, teaching, health, social work, or management)
- Experience in the health, disability, or social services sector
- Strong people management and leadership skills
- Clear communication skills, and ability to communicate compassionately with whānau
- Budgeting and resource management experience
- A full NZ Class 1 driver's licence
**Why Join Spectrum Care?**
- Competitive salary and benefits
- Ongoing training and professional development
- A supportive, inclusive, and values-driven workplace
