**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

We have the opportunity available to join our Planning, Performance and Purchasing team as a **Senior Performance Analyst**. This permanent, full-time role provides advice and analysis, research, and input into reports, requests and briefings. You will contribute to engagement with internal and external stakeholders (as agreed) to contribute to informed evidence-based recommendations and decisions to inform NPHS performance story.

The Senior Performance Analyst plays a critical role in enabling evidence-based, data-driven decision making and continuous improvement across the organisation. Leveraging advanced analytics skills and a deep understanding of the business, this position is responsible for developing insightful performance reporting, conducting analysis to identify opportunities, trends and risks, and partnering with leadership and operations teams to drive action on priorities.

**Mōu | About you**

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- A relevant tertiary qualification in fields such as public/population health, research, science, statistics, mathematics or other relevant field
- Knowledge of the machinery of government, and policy development, is preferred
- Drawing on 3 - 5 years of relevant performance experience, longer-term experience specific to the job and work demands, acquired over time including advanced experience in using analytical tools
- Understanding of kawa and tikanga and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi & some experience working in partnership with iwi & Māori communities
- Able to build constructive and effective relationships with stakeholders to build a sound understanding of their operational environment and context
