**Tenei turanga - About the Role**:
As Chief Technology and Security Officer you will have singular oversight and provide strategic leadership on the future direction of MBIE's digital and technology road map, assuring architecture, security technology and delivery functions are integrated, aligned and fit for MBIE's current and future objectives.
This is your opportunity to lead transformative ICT change, embedding robust security frameworks, fostering innovation in AI and architecture, and ensuring our technologies support MBIE's mission now and into the future.
This is a high-impact role, and we are seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking leader with a deep understanding of enterprise-level technology and digital ecosystems. You'll be an experienced strategist, able to assess complex systems, inspire cross-functional collaboration, and advise the executive team with credibility and expertise.
You will:
- Lead large-scale ICT transformations and oversee strategic delivery functions
- Champion innovation in architecture, technology and AI enablement
- Build high-performing teams and a culture of security and excellence
- Influence and engage stakeholders across and beyond MBIE
- Bring strong expertise in cyber security, system integration, and organisational alignment

- **; Strong influencing and relationship-building skills at all organisational levels**:
- **; Advanced strategic planning and system-level thinking**:
- **; Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent senior-level experience**:
- **; Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret security clearance**:
- **; Able to pass a satisfactory credit check**:
- **; Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand**
