**Job Overview**

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the health and wellbeing of inmates at Auckland South Corrections Facility (ASCF). As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting Registered Nurses with patient care and promoting a safe and rehabilitative healthcare setting.

**Responsibilities**

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting Registered Nurses with patient care
  • Administering medications and conducting observations
  • Promoting a safe and rehabilitative healthcare setting

**Requirements**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Health Care Assistant NZQA Level 3 qualification
  • At least 12 months of experience in an acute or emergency setting
  • An understanding of cultural, religious, and ethnic diversity, particularly in relation to Maori health needs
  • A strong commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi & Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Resilience, empathy, and a nonjudgmental approach
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
