Be part of a dynamic team in the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) as an Emergency Management Planning Specialist. This is a unique opportunity to lead in the national emergency management planning space, developing and maintaining New Zealand's national emergency management planning framework.

About the Role

In this role, you will partner with social and infrastructure sectors to build resilience across the 4 Rs of risk reduction, readiness, response, and recovery in support of communities. You will be responsible for facilitating a collaborative work environment, delivering high-quality work output under pressure, and ensuring effective decision-making in complex situations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of emergency management principles and practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to think strategically with strong initiative and problem-solving abilities.

This is a fixed-term secondment position that requires New Zealand citizenship or Permanent Residence, and the ability to obtain and maintain an internal/national security clearance at Confidential, Secret or higher. The indicative salary range for this role is $144,291 - $161,266, including Kiwisaver employer contributions.
