About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Radiation Oncology Service as a Consultant Radiation Oncologist in the Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley region.

We are seeking an experienced Radiation Oncologist with general radiation oncology expertise to join our team on a fixed-term contract.

The role involves working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient-focused treatment services.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing medical care to patients with cancer
  • Working closely with radiation therapists and medical physicists to deliver efficient and effective treatment plans
  • Participating in multidisciplinary clinics across several sites

We offer a range of treatments, including HDR brachytherapy for gynaecological, prostate and skin cancers, and radioactive iodine service for thyroid cancer. Our focus is on extending our stereotactic programme and research activities.

Wellington is an accredited training facility for radiation oncology registrars, radiation therapists and medical physicists, offering opportunities for professional growth and development.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Vocationally registered in Radiation Oncology with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
  • FRANZCR or equivalent qualification and ability to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Able to provide high standards of medical care
  • Relevant experience and training in Radiation Oncology

Estimated annual salary: $180,000 - $220,000.
