Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced midwife to join our team at Tokoroa Maternity Unit. As a Registered Midwife, you will be responsible for providing high-quality postnatal care to inpatients, including breastfeeding support, education, emotional support, monitoring of vitals according to care plans, and ensuring all observations are within the normal range.

Responsibilities
1. Provide postnatal care to inpatients, including breastfeeding support and education.
2. Provide midwifery care for acute presentations, including labour and birth care, CTG monitoring, and assessing the pregnancy of someone who has presented to ED with a non-pregnancy related issue.
3. Support LMC midwives during a labour, in an emergency, or care for someone who is labouring/birthing when the LMC is not present.
4. Manage referrals to Waikato Hospital.
5. Ensure that the unit is well stocked and running smoothly.
6. Perform administrative tasks in the absence of the admin staff.
