Job Overview

We are seeking a part-time Support Worker in Hamilton to provide support for families, fostering their self-determination and empowering them to lead a valued life on their own terms. The hours for this role will start at 5-10 per week with the opportunity to increase these hours over time.

Key Responsibilities

Your tasks as a Support Worker will encompass a range of activities, including grocery shopping, meal planning, preparation and cooking, laundry, light cleaning, and household support. Your goal is to provide assistance so the family can maintain their active participation in daily living, both at home and in the community.

  • Create a supportive environment that focuses on the family's aspirations and independence.
  • Support young people to access education and reach their goals.
  • Monitor and address health concerns or support the overall health and wellbeing of the young person.
  • Tailor supports to the family's unique needs and goals, adopting a holistic approach.
