About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced administrative professional to join our team as Executive Assistant to the Mayor at Manawatu District Council.

As a key member of the Governance and Assurance team, you will play a critical role in supporting the Mayor's busy schedule and ensuring a smooth workflow.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Handle the Mayor's correspondence, emails, and phone calls with tact and discretion.
  2. Co-ordinate the Mayor's meetings, events, and functions, ensuring timely and accurate preparation.
  3. Provide research support for reports, presentations, and speeches, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
  4. Assist in event planning, including logistics and coordination.

About You

  • Experienced administrative professional with strong track record of supporting senior management.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated emotional resilience, composure, and professionalism under pressure.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with ability to draft high-quality documents.
