At the New Zealand Transport Agency, we're looking for a skilled Strategic Communications Lead to join our team in Waikato. As a key member of our Engagement and Partnerships group, you'll play a critical role in developing effective communication strategies, plans, and tactics to engage stakeholders and communities across Waikato and Bay of Plenty.

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to bring your expertise in communications and engagement planning to support NZTA's goals. You'll work closely with our teams to develop C&E plans that mitigate and capitalize on risks and opportunities, ensuring all activities meet NZTA standards and deliver the required outcomes.

You'll have the chance to make connections right across the business, working with diverse stakeholders to plan and manage internal and external communications and engagement activities. Your advice and guidance will ensure NZTA is well-supported to achieve its objectives.

About You

We're seeking a strategic thinker with experience working in the public sector, particularly in communications and engagement planning. You'll have excellent writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to present complex information clearly and simply. Previous experience in communications and engagement planning and delivery at senior advisor level is essential.

Additionally, you'll possess sound knowledge of communications and engagement tools, techniques, and channels. An ability to adjust pragmatically and constructively to changes in work practices and deal with competing demands is also crucial. Proven ability to build relationships with people at all levels and previous exposure to successfully working in a collaborative/matrix environment are highly desirable.
