Overview

The company has a portfolio of 2,400 towers that cover from Mangonui to Bluff, making it the largest in New Zealand.
Mobile data use in New Zealand has increased significantly in recent years, and demand for mobile services continues to grow.
We ensure that Aotearoa stays up-to-date with this increasing demand by having a forward-build commitment of towers for our customers over the next eight years to support required growth in coverage and capacity.
This role will challenge you, broaden your horizons, and give you the opportunity to make your mark on a totally new segment of New Zealand's telecommunications industry.

Responsibilities
As the Property Acquisition Manager, you will be responsible for selecting and acquiring suitable telecommunications sites throughout New Zealand. You will deal with various stakeholders, including farmers, commercial property owners, and other individuals.
You will ensure timely acquisition of signed property agreements and planning consents at the rate required by the business to facilitate delivery of our expansion plans. 

Key Tasks
  • Select and acquire suitable telecommunications sites across different landscapes in New Zealand.
  • Negotiate with landowners and their solicitors to secure suitable tenure over telecommunications sites.
  • Manage multiple concurrent site acquisition projects to deliver sites on time and within budget.
  • Work directly with internal subject matter experts and external consultants to coordinate site visits and project tasks.

Requirements
Your strong background in leases and negotiation, along with relevant qualifications and experience, will set you up for success. This includes:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Property or Law or equivalent combination of education and site acquisition management experience in the wireless telecommunications industry.
  • Experience in each part of the site acquisition process, with the ability to drive performance of a wider team of subject matter experts in parallel.
  • A strong background in lease negotiation and associated documents.
  • A working knowledge of the Resource Management Act.
  • A track record of success in a team environment in the complex delivery of multiple projects.
