Job Overview: As a Corporate Services Officer with New Zealand Customs Service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality administrative support to the Corporate Services team. Your duties will include purchasing goods and services, uniform ordering, mail and courier distributions, arranging building services repairs and maintenance, security system maintenance and programming, staff and visitor passes and security access cards issue, general motor vehicle fleet management, and assisting with corporate tasks at other Custom locations.

About You: To succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication and problem-solving skills, a client-centric focus, and a professional attitude. You will also need to have a calm manner, sound judgment, and integrity. In addition, you will need to be able to work effectively as part of a small team and adapt to changing priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing goods and services, including obtaining quotes, purchase order preparation, and goods receipting
  • Uniform ordering, issue, and recording duties
  • Mail and courier distributions
  • Arranging building services repairs and maintenance
  • Security system maintenance and programming
  • Staff and visitor passes and security access cards issue
  • General motor vehicle fleet management
  • Assisting with corporate tasks at other Custom locations

Work Environment: The successful candidate will be based at one of our two corporate occupancies, with occasional work at other locations. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and busy environment that offers variety and requires a component of activity that would suit someone not wanting to be fully desk-based.
