Job Overview

The primary goal of this role is to implement effective monitoring programs for resource consents and regional rules, focusing on coastal marine activities. This includes preparing and implementing monitoring plans, conducting site inspections, collecting samples, making measurements, recording data, and reporting results.

In addition to monitoring, you will be required to respond to environmental incidents, conducting inspections and investigations, and taking necessary samples and measurements. Your expertise in Coastal Science and understanding of regional council Resource Management Act monitoring functions will be essential in achieving these objectives.

Responsibilities and Expectations
  • Implement effective monitoring programs for resource consents and regional rules
  • Prepare and conduct site inspections, collect samples, make measurements, record data, and report results
  • Respond to environmental incidents, conducting inspections and investigations, and taking necessary samples and measurements
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong background in Coastal Science, with a tertiary qualification relevant to the position. Additionally, you must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft systems, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
