About the Role
  • We are seeking a Maori Health Worker to join our team in Hamilton. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating hui using Tikanga, communicating with taangata hapori and whaanau, and educating clinicians on Te Ao Maaori best practices.
  • This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a mental health, community health, or primary care setting, as well as experience working with Māori and Pasifika groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate hui using Tikanga to support taangata hapori and whaanau accessing services
  • Communicate effectively with taangata hapori and whaanau, as well as the wider team
  • Educate clinicians on Te Ao Maaori best practices
  • Work collaboratively with other organizations to achieve sustainable outcomes for tāngata whaiora
