Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Forensic Psychiatrist to join our team in Dunedin, New Zealand. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a real difference in the lives of patients and contribute to the development of the Regional Forensic Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical care that is patient-centered and promotes dignity and respect of patients.
  • Contribute to the development of the Regional Forensic Service in line with national guidelines.
  • Develop clinical performance objectives and criteria with Unit Manager, Clinical Service Manager, and Director.
  • Maintain liaison with Department of Corrections, Judiciary, and Legal Services.
  • Provide comprehensive assessments in the form of court-ordered reports, mental health assessments, risk assessments, client reviews, and special patient reviews.
Requirements
  • Special Medical Practitioner Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in the area of Specialist Psychiatry.
  • At least 5+ years' recent experience as a Psychiatrist working in Adult General and Forensic Mental Health.
  • Able and willing to work with lower socio-economic groups and socially isolated clients.
  • A high level of organisational skills and energy.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment where exceptional service and customer satisfaction are a key element of the company's brand.
