Job Description

AFFCO Horotiu is seeking a Service Engineer for their Plant located five minutes north of Hamilton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running and monitoring of all refrigeration and cooling appliances and related devices based on site.

Your primary tasks involve:

  • Daily monitoring of boilers, routine freezer defrosting, and testing of water treatment;
  • Ensuring all fittings, electrical, and seals are in line with business needs and performing at acceptable levels;
  • Management of any breakdowns and repair faults in a timely and efficient manner;
  • Routine testing, adjusting, and balancing of systems and processes to ensure efficiency;
  • Promoting and complying with Health & Safety practices for yourself and those around you.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have appropriate qualification/s and experience in Service Engineering, as well as the following:

  • Experience in running a significantly sized cool store;
  • Superior problem-solving skills;
  • Exposure to servicing a large manufacturing plant;
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a variety of priorities and demands;
  • Ability to work well in a team environment;
  • A strong commitment to upholding health and safety standards;
  • Availability for a rostered, rotating shift.
