About the Work

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will work closely with individuals with intellectual disabilities, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their goals and aspirations.

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone's life, empowering them to live independently and participate fully in their community. Your role will involve:

  • Assisting individuals with daily living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and budgeting
  • Helping them stay connected with family and friends, as well as build new relationships
  • Supporting participation in community activities, such as sports and art
  • Facilitating job searching and employment opportunities
  • Providing access to relevant community services and resources
  • Encouraging healthy lifestyle choices and decision-making

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities (desired)
  • A varied life experience and an open-minded attitude
  • The ability to build strong relationships and provide individualized support
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to share information clearly
  • Comfortable using technology to document progress and communicate with others
  • A Full NZ driver's license for transportation purposes
