Conservation Role Overview
Auckland Council is seeking a Senior Conservation Specialist to join our Community Conservation and Engagement team. In this role, you'll play a key part in securing private and philanthropic partnerships that support positive environmental outcomes across Auckland's natural environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to secure private and philanthropic partnerships
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including mana whenua, community organisations, not-for-profits and private sector partners
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and deliver conservation projects and programmes
  • Monitor and report on the success of conservation initiatives

Requirements

  • Proven experience in conservation or a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A relevant qualification or experience in conservation, sustainability or a related field
