Wellington, Wellington, New Zealand Wellington City Rudolf Steiner Kindergarten Full time

Established in Wellington, our kindergarten is a community-based, non-profit Early Childhood Education (ECE) centre that follows the principles of Rudolf Steiner pedagogy.

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Centre Manager to lead our dedicated teaching team and engage with our community and other Steiner/Waldorf centres in the greater Wellington Region.

This permanent part-time role involves managing our kindergarten, which operates for 44 teaching weeks of the year, with some flexibility in scheduling. Our licence is for 20 children, and we are governed by a Trust Board comprising past and present parents.

As Centre Manager, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing environment that supports childhood development through rhythm, love, and respect. You will work closely with families to build strong relationships and foster a sense of community.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • An understanding of and experience within an ECE environment
  • Experience of or an interest in Steiner/Waldorf education
  • Operational and management skills
  • Enthusiasm and warmth, with strong relationship and interpersonal skills

An ECE or primary teaching qualification is preferred but not essential.

We offer a supportive small team environment, a relatively autonomous role with Board governance and support, and a salary commensurate with extended pay parity manager rate, estimated at $NZ80,000 per annum based on industry standards and Wellington's cost of living.

The ideal candidate will commence the role ideally in late January with some handover days in December with our current manager.
