About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join our Group Strategy & Chief Executive Office Directorate as a key Māori Outcomes Lead and Strategic Māori Outcomes Director.

This pivotal role involves partnering with senior leadership to drive Māori outcomes through the Kia Ora Tāmaki Makaurau framework, ensuring that key strategic initiatives are executed efficiently and effectively.

The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and delivering Māori outcomes aligned with the Kia Ora Tāmaki Makaurau framework, fostering strong relationships with Māori stakeholders, mana whenua, mātāwaka, and other Māori groups, and providing expert advice and strategic insights on Māori outcomes to leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic initiatives by shaping and delivering Māori outcomes aligned with the Kia Ora Tāmaki Makaurau framework
  • Facilitate the clarity and coherence of strategic initiatives across the Directorate
  • Foster strong relationships with Māori stakeholders, mana whenua, mātāwaka, and other Māori groups
  • Provide expert advice and strategic insights on Māori outcomes to leadership teams
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Extensive experience in strategic leadership, particularly in driving change and strategic initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership and diverse stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of developing innovative solutions aligned with Māori outcomes
  • Experience in delivering strategic advice and leadership that supports the advancement of Māori aspirations in local government
