We are seeking a Cultural Navigator and Strategic Leader to join our team at Whakaata Māori. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the charge in creating impactful events and programmes that celebrate and amplify Māori language and culture.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary leader who is passionate about te reo Māori and has a deep understanding of its importance in modern contexts. You will be working closely with our team to develop and implement cultural strategies that showcase the richness and diversity of Māori culture.

Responsibilities
  • Be the heartbeat of our cultural initiatives, embedding te reo me ngā tikanga Māori into everything we do.
  • Lead the charge in creating impactful events and programmes that celebrate and amplify Māori language and culture.
  • Drive HR with a twist—fostering a team that's not just skilled but culturally savvy.
  • Craft communications that aren't just on-brand but are infused with the spirit of Aotearoa.
Requirements
  • A deep love for te reo Māori and a knack for making it shine in modern contexts.
  • 10+ years of experience turning HR and cultural strategies into reality.
  • A talent for making connections and building relationships with Māori communities and stakeholders.
  • A creative soul who can think outside the box while staying true to our roots.
What We Offer
