About the Role We are seeking a caring and patient-focused Maternity Healthcare Assistant.
You will be primarily based in Maternity Services, but also covering other areas of the hospital as and when required.
You must also be currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Midwifery programme. These are casual positions working 0 - 80 hours per fortnight, as and when required, including weekends and nights.

Responsibilities Your role is to provide assistance to the midwifery and nursing team as required to ensure that a high level of maternity care is always maintained.
While experience in a maternity and wider hospital setting is an advantage, we will support the successful applicants with dedicated training in the work that our healthcare assistants undertake.
You will be required to work under the direction and delegation of a Registered Midwife or Nurse; therefore, excellent communication skills are a must.
Minimum Requirements Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Midwifery programmeAbility to work under the direction and delegation of others but also carry out tasks independentlyAbility to work under stress and respond to a variety of changing situationsBasic keyboard skillsGood oral and written English and communication skillsWorking at Health New Zealand
