You'll work closely with people leaders, ensuring HR best practices align with Northpower's vision and values.In this busy and varied role, you will:Coach and advise leaders on HR best practicesManage employment relations matters end-to-end, whilst working within a unionised environmentSupport organisational change initiativesDrive leadership capability developmentCollaborate on strategic people plans to enhance engagement and business performanceEnsure compliance with NZ employment law and HR policiesBuild strong relationships across the business and act as a trusted advisorWhat's in it for you?At Northpower, we put our people at the heart of the organisation.

You will be passionate about people, have strong relationship building skills, have a can-do attitude, and show eagerness to learn.You will also have:A relevant bachelor's degree preferably in HR management or I/O psychologyProven 5 years' experience (minimum) in an HR advisory role, with a solid understanding of HR principles and best practicesStrong knowledge of New Zealand employment law and regulations, and proven experience managing end to end employment relation matters, including mediation, variations to employment contracts, bargaining, and disciplinary/performance management processesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to engage with people at all levels of the organisationAbility to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretionStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound HR decisionsProficiency in HRIS and MS Office applicationsExperience with continuous improvement and metric tracking toolsEnjoy working collaboratively in a team, yet able to work self-directedAbout us:Northpower is an electricity and fibre network provider for Whangarei and Kaipara, with more than 60,000 connected customers.
