Literacy Facilitator/Support Worker, Intensive Support Service Permanent, Full-time (40 hours per week)Service operates, Monday – Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.Position is based from our Otahuhu and New Lynn servicesPay Equity: $25.00ph - $30.00ph(depending on qualification held and its equivalence to the Certificate in Health and Wellbeing L4)Ember values our employees.

Intellectual Disability with forensic background and/or mental illness.
We provide individualised support to develop client life skills that will improve their quality of life through day programmes built and facilitated by our Support Workers.
We partner with residential services to provide an array of supportive services to facilitate the client on their pathway to rehabilitation.
Role | Nga mahi Support Workers provide skills and services tailored to the individual needs of the client, combining client-centred goals with behavioural interventions.
Literacy Facilitators develop content, activities, and resources, and facilitate programmes that empower whaiora to grow their reading and writing, numerical, and financial literacy.
In this role, you will provide clients with a sense of identity and self-confidence by:
Facilitating the development of a range of skills that promote community participation and successful entry to the mainstream labour market.Identifying and assessing needs, setting goals, coaching, and facilitating the growth of literacy and numeracy skills.Facilitating the design, delivery, and evaluation of literacy programmes, including building content, activities, and resources that meet whaiora's needs.Providing or coordinating one-on-one and/or group support and training that assists an individual with high and complex needs to develop interpersonal and pre-vocational skills that improves their quality of life and enables them to live within their community of choice.Being comfortable with work activities that are of a physical nature and may involve active participation in sports and restrains of clients.You will | Nga Pukenga Have or be working towards a New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 or equivalent.Have a New Zealand Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy, or a similar relevant qualification, or experience in a related relevant field.Hold a Full NZ Drivers Licence.Have a valid/current work visa, residency, or citizenship.Have experience working with intellectual disability and complex behaviours.Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to relate, adapt to and engage a wide spectrum of people with diverse backgrounds, ages and cultures.Have a passion for walking alongside those in need, supporting ongoing goals on the pathway to recovery.When applying please have | Kia Whakauru Up to date CV prepared.Cover Letter detailing:Why you're interested in the role?What skills, competencies and experience, particularly with adult literacy education, that you would bring to the role?"He aha te mea nui o te ao?
