Collaborating closely with the MNO's Mental Health and Addictions Program within the Community Wellbeing Branch, the Systems Coordinator will be pivotal in refining service pathways and client journeys.
This includes spearheading the development of recommendations and planning activities geared towards fostering greater coordination across the mental health system.
The incumbent will actively engage with Métis communities and service provider organizations, employing wise practices to gather information and catalyze positive MHA outcomes.What you will be doing:Review and Analysis:Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of existing mental health services to identify opportunities for streamlining service navigation and improving overall efficiency.Develop and create comprehensive environmental cross-analyses of systems supporting Indigenous women in mental health, addictions, and judicial systems.
This includes assessing local and provincial structures to identify areas for enhancement.Policy, Process, and Procedure Development:Take the lead in developing and revising policies, processes, and procedures to ensure the delivery of comprehensive mental health services, aligning with best practices and regulatory standards.Collaboration with Indigenous System Coordinators:Work collaboratively with the provincial network of Indigenous System Coordinators across Ontario to share insights, coordinate efforts, and contribute to the advancement of mental health services for Indigenous communities.Stakeholder Communication:Support effective communication and information exchange among internal and external stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and informed environment.Act as a conduit for health system information, facilitating the flow of relevant data and insights to frontline Mental Health and Addiction (MHA) workers for informed decision-making.Liaise with Ontario Health Teams to identify areas for improvement in service pathways, program participant/patient journeys, and coordination between MHA service providers serving Métis communities.Work collaboratively to implement enhancements and address identified needs.Identification of Gaps and Challenges:Identify gaps, barriers, challenges, and successes within the MHA system to develop strategic initiatives for improving coordination.Utilize multi-sectoral approaches to address complex issues.Establish strong linkages with Ontario Health, Indigenous Health Planning entities, and other stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and align mental health services with broader healthcare initiatives.Qualifications:Strong desire to act in the service of the Métis Citizens, to advance and uphold rights and cultureUniversity degree preferred, in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experienceDemonstrated experience in a related fieldExperience working with Indigenous individuals, families and communitiesKnowledge of Métis history, culture and traditionsWorking knowledge of Ontario's current health system/structure (and associated impact on the Métis community)Ability to identify opportunities to collaborate with FNIM communities to create/enhance MNO's supports/servicesExperience with provincial/federal legislation/policies that may have an impact on the health and wellbeing of MétisStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsPreferred:Knowledge of Métis culture, issues, and current activitiesOne year or more experience in a similar/comparable roleExperience dealing with confidential informationExperience working in coordinating and delivering programs and/or servicesPositions also require the following:1.
