Our focus is to ensure the network meets our customers' needs on a day-to-day basis by utilising all the sustainable technology available in order to do this.Description:The RoleBased in Te Kuiti, this is a full-time, permanent role, working 40 hours a week Monday to Friday with an hourly rate ranging from $46 per/hour - $53 per/hour dependent on experience.
There are opportunities to earn additional income through overtime, allowances and the compulsory participation in the 24-hour callout roster, which is one week in every four weeks, therefore you need to live on the network.Your main duties will include but not limited to:Complete proactive and corrective maintenance as scheduled in work plansMaintenance of 230V, 400V, 11kV and 33kV overhead lines and underground cablesWiring and servicing of network equipmentTesting, adjusting and repair of substation equipmentSecondary wiring, batteries and chargersCarry out switching as instructed by Network Controllers to assist in operation and maintenance of the networkAccurately record completed switching activity into switching logsConstruct new electrical reticulation in accordance with regulations, standards and policiesSkills and Experiences:To succeed in this role, you must have:Level 6 Technical Certificate/NZCE or equivalentEWRB electricians' registration and current practicing licence (minimum EWRB limited registration)Minimum of three years' experience as a power technician and a registered electricianWe are looking for a good all-rounder with knowledge of industry safety requirements, relevant electrical trade competencies, the ability to lift weights up to 20kg, a Class 1 driver's license, strong problem-solving skills, a positive attitude, advocacy for health, safety, and wellbeing practices, demonstrable customer service experience, and advanced computer skills for testing specific and protection related software.What we offer:Job stability, a substantial benefit package that includes, but not limited to medical insurance, paid community and volunteer days, access to discounted fuel, commitment to your training, development and career progression.The opportunity to work for a values driven and community focused local employer of choice.Opportunities like this don't come around very often, so if you've been thinking about taking the next step in your career and want to be part of a high performing organisation which provides essential services to our community then we look forward to hearing from you.Fine Print:Safety and wellbeing are integral to every aspect of our business including our recruitment process.
