**Are you passionate about creating engaging promotional events and have at least three years' experience in integrated events management?**

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, creativity and drive to deliver a schedule of events across the Manukau Institute of Technology campuses that support and enhance the student voice experience participation, achievement and success among our diverse student population. This varied role has many touch points and will be instrumental in timely communications utilising a variety of tools and media to students and key stakeholders at MIT about events, services and activities.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Coordinating the planning and delivery of student activities and events across multi-site campuses that meet the needs and expectations of students to increase service engagement and retention goals.
- Coordinate a variety of internal and external events in collaboration with campus staff, marketing teams, and community partners.
- Preparing activity/event planning briefs for all student activities and events and reporting outcomes and learnings
- Using efficient systems and various multi-platform to provide effective communication that is student-focused, innovative and informs students of their rights and responsibilities, where they can access help and gain opportunities that engage and develop them further
- Keeping students informed of important information and events through the student newsletter, website, face-to-face and through other appropriate means of communication; social media platforms such as Facebook and Messenger.
- Encouraging students to establish their own clubs or groups on campus to support fellow students to belong, grow and succeed at MIT.
- Collaborating with peers and external stakeholders for opportunities outside of Student Experience and Success to enhance the overall student experience.
- Secure venues, manage contracts, and ensure compliance with legal, health, and safety regulations.
- Oversee all aspects of event logistics, including catering, equipment hire, and media coordination.
- Conduct post-event evaluation and produce reports for stakeholders, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to understand event requirements, with a strong focus on cultural awareness.

A key focus will be leading and growing our involvement in external events and showcasing MIT to industry, schools and local communities. In return, you get to be a part of a diverse team of passionate people whose mission is to transform lives, communities and industry.

Handy with the mic you will bring great facilitation and public speaking skills and your competence with social medial platforms will enable you to reach out and engage our students through various methods. To be successful you will need to have at least three years of event experience.
