The MBIE ICT Operational Readiness team requires an enthusiastic, highly analytical and committed Principal Transition Advisor. We are a high performing team within - Digital Operations, Digital, Data & Insights Group - and we deliver the following key functions, ICT service design assistance (service support), project to business-as-usual transition facilitation and operational readiness reviews for new or modified services.

MBIE is responsible for running and operating many services which are reliant on reliable, fit for purpose, performant or available digital services and you will be critical to the success of these outcomes.

**Tēnei tūranga - About the Role**:
This role is for experienced ICT professionals who understand the risks and challenges associated with the implementation of new IT services and a broad understanding of enterprise IT environments. The role requires you to forge key relationships with a diversity of stakeholders and maintain these relationships with our team. Reporting to the Manager Operational Readiness this position is responsible for assessing, reviewing, and preparing for the transition of new and modified systems into the MBIE ICT environment.

The role will work closely with project managers & solution architects to understand new solutions, to ensure that projects have properly addressed the range of conditions set by key stakeholders across the ICT branch, and that projects deploy into Production smoothly and sustainably.

The role requires a high level of attention to detail to assess documentation and taking an evidence-based approach to risk analysis. The role requires you to facilitate discussions with diverse technology stakeholder groups, listening and influencing the outcomes to ensure success for ICT.

**To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate**:

- Broad knowledge and 5+ years’ experience in ICT operations and/or ICT project management, in depth service delivery management knowledge including outsourced enterprise environments
- An analytical thinker who can make connections between various aspects of the organisation and the implications or potential risks for the Digital, Data & Insights Group and the customer
- A sound understanding of how to develop and implement ongoing service support models across multiple organisations including vendors and varying technology
- Evidence of developing and maintaining working relationships, networks, and partnerships with key stakeholders including managers, staff, process owners and vendors
- A sound understanding of Agile development and Project Management methodology
- Proven experience in the onboarding of new IT services
- Ability to read and understand complex solution designs from an IT operations perspective
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written particularly business writing and reporting
- An ability to multitask while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
- Understanding of government operating and decision-making procedures
- An understanding of Risk management principles

**Qualifications**:

- Tertiary qualification in a business or technology related discipline or equivalent experience
- ITIL Managing Across the Lifecycle preferred
- Project Management certification preferred
- Agile & Devops certification is advantageous
- Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand
