Mō te tūnga | About the roles The System Policy branch plays an important system leadership and stewardship role for the housing and urban development systems. We work across a wide range of areas focusing on identifying system level problems and the barriers to change, developing policy solutions that enable Te Tūāpapa Kura Kāinga to achieve its strategic objectives, and advising Ministers and decision makers. Our work is informed by, and influences, a range of key stakeholders including: other government agencies, local government, iwi and Māori, housing providers, and community organisations. We are currently looking for Advisors, Senior Advisors, and Principal Advisors who will have a particular focus on developing fit-for-purpose and effective system policy settings and interventions across transitional, supported, public, and community housing. In these roles you will:

- consider the functions and responsibilities of different system stakeholders,
- understand the barriers related to land, infrastructure, funding, and delivery of housing
- ask questions about what is working well, what is not working well, and what might need to change to deliver more efficient, more effective, and more equitable housing outcomes for people,
- lead and contribute to projects, working across Te Tūāpapa Kura Kāinga, with other agencies and stakeholders to undertake analysis on cross-cutting issues,
- advise Ministers on the interventions needed to achieve system level changes,
- influence others across the system to help realise change,
- be provided with strong support networks and development opportunities.
