**About the opportunity**

Our Hautapu site sits conveniently nestled between Cambridge and Hamilton, manufacturing a range of products including award winning cheeses exported internationally to a global market.

As our Utilities Manager you will effectively manage the Energy Centre and associated Utilities onsite, ensuring optimal service levels are maintained site wide. With 7 direct reports, you will lead and coach the high performing Energy Centre Team to deliver the day-to-day operations and strategic continuous improvement, whilst also providing leadership and accountability.

Reporting to our Site Services Manager, you will play a critical part of the Maintenance team and collaborate with a range of stakeholders such as contractors, consultants, councils and professional bodies on a regular basis. You will also engage with wider Fonterra regional and national teams to lead and support continuous improvement activities.

With recent and ongoing Energy Centre upgrades, this is a unique position that will give you exposure to new equipment and technologies with lots of opportunities for you to develop and succeed in your career

Some key responsibilities include:

- Daily management of the water system and compliance to current NZ water drinking standards
- Manage critical risks and regulatory requirements on our utility assets
- Create and deliver an energy reduction plan across thermal energy, electricity, and water
- Provide stable utility operations to site with clear management plans
- Ensure successful delivery of utilities capital projects with the required operational processes in place

**About you**

You may be an experienced leader, or someone wanting to take a step into leading a team with good experience in the utilities field which may include utilities operations, process or mechanical engineering or delivery of energy projects for example with demonstrable passion for this field. You will have a track record for delivering results, engaging across the business and teams and be comfortable leading a team through projects that deliver real process improvement.

Key skills and experience we are looking for:

- Technical background, ideally with exposure to energy centre/ utilities operations
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong communication and change management to engage and interact with various stakeholders across the business
- An understanding of regulatory requirements of operating pressure equipment assets a plus
- Qualification in Engineering or a similar field is desired but not a requirement
