Trust / Finance Administrator

Our client, a mid sized leading law firm with offices in Hamilton and Auckland, is looking for a Trust/ Finance Administrator to join their Hamilton team. Based in the CBD, youll enjoy great local cafes, a modern professional office, and the vibe of working in the city
Working in a well supported team, a large part of your role will be to administer the firms trust account, ensuring compliance at all times, but you will also contribute to a number of other functions, including:
- Assisting with all trust account transactions to maintain accurate and balanced trust account
- Processing receipts, journals, electronic payments, IBD deposit and withdrawals
- Daily trust reconciliation
- Compliance with Law Society requirements in conjunction with Trust Account Partner
- Assisting with billing tasks
- Processing creditor and bank payments
- Debtor control in conjunction with Authors
- Assisting with payroll processing
- Assisting with the monthly financial process including journals and reconciliations
- Deed maintenance
We are looking for a person who enjoys working with financial information someone who has strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Previous exposure to trust accounting is not required, but would be preferred, along with past experience with debtors and creditors. Knowledge of Infinity Law and Xero will be an advantage but full training can also be provided. For someone wanting to learn payroll, training can be provided, and over the next 12-18 months there may be the opportunity to further develop your accounting skills.
This is a great opportunity for someone with 2+ years experience in an accounts role, who enjoys having responsibility for a key part of this firms finance function.
