**About the role**

The information function at Police is growing and we want you to be a part of it Police holds a massive variety of information and data distributed across numerous systems and tools. We are looking for information experts who understands the value of well managed information and can help us realise that value across all the places our information resides.

This role is focused on the ongoing use and development of our Information Asset Register, and the development of assurance products for information at Police. You will work with Information Asset Owners, governance groups and the IM function to improve management and assurance over Polices information assets and help us understand how our information is performing.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Subject matter expert for information assets and assurance at Police.
- Lead the development of our Information Asset Register and assurance/reporting products for information.
- Work with Police’s information asset owners and custodians to ensure information assets are captured and maintained.
- Champion information principles and goals and demonstrate leadership to help Police improve its information capability.

- Experience/knowledge of information asset management, assurance and skills to develop and maintain these products.
- A healthy level of curiosity and self-awareness, and the ability to learn from your mistakes.
- Knowledge of the NZ government information environment, including legislation and standards impacting on the role.
- Strong interpersonal and listening skills, an ability to influence stakeholders, a team focus work ethic and an ability to work collaboratively with a range of people and teams.
- Critical thinking skills, and a demonstrated ability to turn concepts into implementable solutions.
- High experience working in Information Management in government, and a postgraduate level degree in Information Management (or a related discipline).
