Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Toitū Te Whenua is looking for a Senior Records & Information Management Specialist to be a key part of the information and records management team in Wellington.
We're looking for someone very special, an experienced Information & Records Management Indiana Jones (props not included) with a deep talent, and driving curiosity, for untangling, interpreting, and navigating complex and overlapping record keeping systems that span more than 150 years and traverse significant technological changes.
You will have demonstrated strengths in physical records management as well as digital records and systems, you will be fluent in information taxonomy design and retention and disposal development and implementation. You will have rich and varied experience with dealing with Archives New Zealand and understanding Public Records Act obligations.
Knowledge of Land Registry systems and experience with Objective ECM would be an advantage. You will also have an interest in digitisation opportunities.

**The role will involve**:

He pūkenga tou - Skills & Experience
- Have a relevant tertiary qualification.
- Proven information architecture and disposal authority development skills and experience
- Familiar liaising with commercial physical storage providers
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and deliver highly effective cross-functional teams to develop, deliver, and implement information governance and management initiatives.
- Excellent understanding of the implications of government policy and initiatives on records management; in-depth knowledge of the Public Records Act (2005), the Archives NZ Information & Records Management Standard (2016), the Privacy Act (2020) and the Official Information Act (1982).
- Excellent communication and organisation skills, including the ability to collaborate with staff at all levels across the institution, and with outside organisations and vendors.
- Be able to work collaboratively in a complex and changing environment.
**The annual salary range for this role spans**: $120,000 to $140,000 based on skills and experience.
