Te tūnga | The role
An exciting opportunity for a proven EA and coordinator to support our General Manager (GM) and Te Tohu Rautaki Angitu Māori team. Reporting to and supporting the GM as well as cross functional Te Tohu initiatives, you embed our commitment to working with iwi Māori under Te Tiriti o Waitangi and growing its influence and importance across Stats NZ to positively increase our engagement with iwi and Māori in the data system.
Te Tohu Rautaki Angitu Māori is accountable for building capability within Stats NZ to ensure our engagement with iwi and Māori supports their data needs and enables their aspirations to live and thrive as Māori. We enable this by forming meaningful relationships with Iwi and Māori to raise their participation in the data system and to support the delivery of Stats NZ's system leadership role through co-created and innovative approaches that embrace te ao Māori. The expertise of the team reflects our priority to deliver better outcomes for Māori through sustainable relationships with iwi and Māori. We also aim to raise the capability of Stats NZ by working across the organisation to ensure we are all able to engage with Iwi and Māori in mana-enhancing ways.

We need someone who remains calm under pressure, problem solves and manages challenges as they arise. You'll have:

- The ability to multitask and prioritise using your expert organisational skills.
- Experience providing advice, guidance, and support to others, in a tactful and discreet manner.
- Sound judgement, common sense, with a strong ability to anticipate next steps and needs.
- Strong communication skills, written, oral and interpersonal
- Expert technical skills when it comes to office systems, setting up meetings and technology e.g. video conferencing, MS Teams, syncing diaries and phones, using Microsoft office and picking up other technology.
