Mō te tūnga | About the role
The National Contact Centre service the entire country, providing 24/7 service to children and families. From initial contact, the contact centre will be involved in each aspect of completing the child's journey through our multiple services.
As an Information Services Specialist, you will be part of a team who review information on our client information system (CYRAS) and provide summaries of relevant information to external organisations and agencies. The information provided assists in key decision making and ensuring that tamariki and rangatahi are in loving families and communities where they can be safe, strong, connected, and able to flourish.
To support whānau and tamariki, we are looking for people who will have high accuracy and attention to detail in everything they do. You will be representing Oranga Tamariki and supporting decisions made for families, partners and stakeholders that should be mana enhancing, respectful and appropriate.
Within this process, full attention must be paid to the accuracy of client records, whilst strictly adhering to information security procedures. This is a fast paced and challenging environment, and you will be given training and development at each step. You will be supported by a Social Work Supervisor, as well as an experienced team.
You will be required to work 40 hours per week from Mon-Fri, between the hours of 8am - 6pm. Flexible working conditions may be considered. You will need to be flexible to provide cover when required to meet operational demand.

**Key requirements of the role include**:

- Confident communicator both verbally and written
- Previous experience managing large pieces of personal information, preferably within a large public or private sector organisation.
- Strong analytical abilities
- Great interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with people of varying levels
- Effective organisational, planning and time management skills
- Professionalism, empathy and cultural awareness
- Excellence knowledge of IT systems and all Microsoft packages
- Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture.
