**Our Opportunity**:
Mercury operates eight hydro power plants along the Waikato river, all in fantastic locations and all with amazing history. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Specialist Engineer to join our Dam Safety team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager - Technical Safety, you will provide dam safety engineering expertise and asset management support to achieve our business objectives. The Specialist Engineer contributes to maintaining and protecting the integrity of our hydro dam assets, actively participates in dam safety management, and ensures compliance with regulations and our corporate obligations. This role can be based in either Rotorua or Hamilton.
- Ensure dam safety reviews and audits are completed
- Planning and management of dam upgrade projects, capital works, and maintenance
- Analysis and verification of dam safety performance data
- Support and advisory role for Operations
- Ensure statutory and corporate compliance

**We are looking for**:

- Degree or higher qualification in Engineering or a related discipline experience
- Significant experience in a similar role
- Maintain membership of a professional institute (i.e. eNZ, NZSOLD)
