Allied Health is a term used to describe the broad range of health professionals who are not doctors, dentists or nurses. Allied Health includes Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Therapy, Nutrition & Dietetic Services, Social Work, Child Development Services and Hauora Maori Health.
We are looking for an experienced administrator to join the Allied Health Administration Team primarily working in the Physiotherapy Department at Christchurch Hospital. This is a fixed term full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm.
As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement this role has been mapped to National Band5/Profile 5

In this role you will be part of a team that provides front of house cover, scheduling of outpatient bookings and staff administrative support necessary to enable co-ordinated care for our patients and staff
- Personable, patient/customer focused approach to your work with the ability to relate to others in a courteous and compassionate manner
- Sound computer skills including knowledge of MS Office
- Superb organisation, time management and problem-solving skills
- Excellent relationship building skills, coupled with the ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy
- Flexibility to assist other Allied Health Teams across the CDHB
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience using a Patient Management System would be a distinct advantage, however full training will be provided by our supportive administrative team.Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

- Ability to achieve accuracy and maintain attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and work unsupervised

- Intermediate to advanced user in the Microsoft suite of products e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel
- Excellent keyboard knowledge including typing with Dictaphone skills
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated perceptiveness and a proactive approach to assisting Hauora Maori in an administrator role.Desired:

- Knowledge of and commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and biculturalism
- Broad administrative experience in a health-related field
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with the public hospital system (including the patient management system)
- Awareness of people of differing cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to develop straight-forward office systems and ensure procedures are introduced
- Ability to prioritise workload
