therapist
- Work with dysphagia and
communication patients at Nelson and Wairau Hospitals, with a strong inpatient
focus
- Travel time and accommodation
covered to travel from your nearest hospital to the other site (using a
hospital car or shuttle)

This is a full-time role, fixed term for
one year, to cover temporary leave at both Nelson and Wairau Hospitals within
our adult SLT teams. You may be based in
either the Nelson or Blenheim area, and travel to the other area on a weekly basis. The split between the hospitals may vary as
demand dictates, but at least two days a week at Wairau Hospital (Blenheim)
will be required. Travel and
accommodation will be arranged and funded by Te Whatu Ora.
There will be a strong focus on inpatient
work at both sites (acute and rehab). There will likely also be opportunities for
outpatient and/or community work. There
will be a wide range of aetiologies to cover, and strong generalist skills will
be an advantage. You will need to be
able to work independently as you may sometimes be the only SLT on duty at the
site, although phone support will always be available.

We
**are seeking applicants who have**:
- A relevant qualification in
speech-language therapy that is recognised and approved by the New Zealand
Speech-language Therapists - Association (NZSTA).
- Registered member with the
NZSTA.
- A current full driver - s
licence.
- A minimum of two years
- experience in the hospital setting is preferred. However, new or recent graduates who have
hospital experience are also encouraged to apply, and appropriate support will
be provided should you be successful.
