Our client is a tier one civil construction business with a national presence and supported by a global parent company. They are looking to recruit someone who enjoys and has expertise in business development in the civil construction market in NZ.

As a key member of the Winning Work and National Projects team you will be a senior leader responsible for actively providing leadership and support to secure profitable work across the business. Responsible for the pretender and tender phase activity you'll play a critical role in ensuring the company's ongoing success in the civil construction business sector.

**You'll also be responsible for**:

- Managing a team of Winning Work professional including Bid Manager, Engineers and Writers
- Actively leading the development of compelling tenders which enable the delivery of profitable projects
- Leadership of active marketing and business development activities to support the business in gaining market share
- Development of business strategy to support market changes and ensure we remain agile to our customers needs
- Co-ordination of bid strategy across all business units
- Engaging in business development including maintaining a network of relationships to support the business in the future

**About You**:
To be successful in this role you'll have significant experience (10+ years) in technical design delivery and construction management. You'll also have:

- Additional experience in Bid, or Project Management teams in the civil construction industry
- Excellent commercial acumen along with a proven ability to deliver engineered solutions to complex situations
- Strong people management skills - managing and directing high performing teams, building a culture of safe innovation, trust and loyalty to achieve their best
- Practical knowledge of, and experience working within applicable Design processes to comply with requirements for an acceptable tender/ project requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification - e.g. Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
