The Remuneration and Reward Manager is responsible for creating and implementing MBIE’s remuneration and reward strategy and associated policies and practices that reflect and reinforce our people strategy and organisational culture.

**Tēnei tūranga - About the role**:
As our Manager Remuneration and Reward, you will have opportunity to lead and create new ways of working and embed our MBIE leader-led approach to remuneration and reward that is people-centred and keeps our organisation safe.

You will establish your function as a centre of expertise and motivate and inspire your team to share high-quality advice and guidance to our people leaders on wide range of remuneration and reward matters.
You will be a sound communicator with ability to engage and influence within the broader public service system to embed sustainable change. As part of this role, you will also:

- Play a vital role in ensuring that MBIE has a fair and equitable remuneration and reward system
- Introduce a suite of clear, consistent, and easy-to-follow people-centred policies, processes and practices
- Share insights with senior leaders to help them understand the impact of remuneration and reward on MBIE’s culture, engagement and performance

**Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and experience required**:
We are looking for an individual with a depth of experience in Remuneration and Reward at both a strategic and operational level along with a sound understanding of the Public Sector.
Further to this will also demonstrate the following:

- A deep understanding of all aspects of Remuneration and Reward and experience developing and implementing ER strategies, frameworks, and policies
- A people-focused leader dedicated to providing training, development and mobilisation opportunities for talent to learn and grow
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with a range of stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally
- Knowledge and experience of te ao Māori and te ao Māori practices; tikanga, te reo and a comprehensive understanding of the Treaty, Te Tiriti and the Treaty Principles
