**Tēnei tūranga - About the role**:
We are looking for an experienced finance professional who brings strong financial skills to support our regulation of the petroleum and minerals sectors, including a unique opportunity affecting decommissioning for NZ’s petroleum sector.

You will have a good eye for financial risks, the ability to collaborate with others, and a track record of delivering complex work to a deadline.
Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and experience required:

- Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance or other relevant qualification, preferably a chartered accountant
- Proven senior ability to assess financial information, project economics, commercial agreements, joint venture and other corporate structures, relating to both New Zealand and international businesses and strong finance and business acumen
- Strong excel and modelling skills
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the confidence, courage, sound judgement and intelligence to drive financial risk management for the Crown
- Ability to communicate and work in a constructive way with industry stakeholders
- Ideally have work experience in the petroleum or minerals industry, or a related industry

The Principal Advisor will report to the National Manager Petroleum & Minerals in the Energy and Resource Markets branch.
