An exciting opportunity for a Principal Advisor Capability and Organisational Development to join the People and Culture team at the Electoral Commission.
Reporting to the Manager People and Culture, you will lead a small team to implement and maintain people management programmes to support the Commission's strategic aims and objectives.
You will contribute to the Commission's People and Culture priorities and provide sound advice and support to managers and their teams. Lead the organisation's capability and development of the Commission and be the primary liaison with senior leaders.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Capability strategy - develop and implement initiatives and improvements to current practices.
- Talent management - implement performance management and talent management initiatives and succession planning.
- People strategy - develop, analyse, monitor, promote and enable employee learning and development programmes.
- Design, develop and lead the implementation of a Leadership framework.
- Engagement, equity and pay gap initiatives.
- Manage the organisation's culture programme to align with Electoral Commission values.

**To be successful in this role, you will have**:

- A relevant tertiary qualification and experience in a Principal capability and organisational developmentcapacity.
- Experience leading strategy formulation and outcome development, planning and reporting.
- Ability to lead a small team to oversee work, support, mentor and develop.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience working on projects with multiple components.

The Electoral Commission is an independent Crown Entity who works with and through communities to inform, engage and educate New Zealanders about the value of participation, make it easy for them to enrol and vote, promote understanding of New Zealand's democratic processes, and deliver parliamentary elections and referenda.
In associate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade under the New Zealand Aid Programme, the International Team provides technical assistance to electoral agencies in the Pacific and beyond to support those agencies to enhance their electoral administration capability.
