**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
The National Lead Readiness and Response is responsible for leading preparedness and response strategies within Te Whatu Ora. This role is focused on ensuring that the organisation is well-prepared for various emergencies, crises, and disasters, and can effectively respond to mitigate their impact. This role plays a central role in safeguarding the well-being of personnel and the organisation's assets while also maintaining compliance with regulations and fostering collaboration with external partners.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Several years' experience in emergency management (in the range of 7+years), and knowledge of the Health and Disability Sector, Health Emergency Management and Civil Defence Emergency Management Sectors.
- Has led regional and local responses. Experience leading a national response is desirable.
- Experienced in organisational transformation and business change where national approaches are required involving multiple stakeholders.
- Able to maximise the quality and contributions of individuals and teams to achieve the organisation's vision, purpose, and goals.
- Training experience - delivery and development of training/education modules.

We are working towards a system that better meets the complex demands of a growing population, addresses the persistent inequalities experienced by Māori and ensures greater access, experience, and outcomes for those traditionally not well served by the system - Māori, Pacific and Disabled People.
