**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

We have an opportunity available to join our business services team as a **Planner**. This permanent, full-time role will see you contribute to the aligning of NPHS planning to agree organisational, Ministerial, Government, Board and Public Health priorities. This includes establishing a robust annual business planning process for NPHS that meets the requirements of accountability documents such as the Government Policy Statement, NZ Health plan or other identified Public Health priorities.

The primary organisational impact outcome sought from this position is supporting the development of an Annual Business Planning process for NPHS that is consistent with the best business practice of Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora and supporting the development of a 3-year plan which articulates future vision, broader Public Health goals and actions for NPHS.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- A qualification in an area relevant to planning or comparable experience working at a leadership level
- Able to draw on relevant longer-term experience specific to the job and work demands, acquired over time
- 3-5 years
- Some leadership experience, that may include having designed and managed a project of work
- Understanding of kawa and tikanga and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi & some experience working in partnership with iwi & Māori
- Able to build constructive and effective relationships with stakeholders to build a sound understanding of their operational environment and context
