The Role:
As the Stores &Purchasing Coordinator you will deliver high quality procurement and purchasing activities and advice while providing support to the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Team and business units. You will also:

- take a lead role in researching, implementing and monitoring purchasing strategies and related activities.
- assist with implementing purchasing strategies and procedures with consideration of the ongoing compliance for purchases aligned with operational needs and additional capital requirements for Wood Products & GT Forests.
- be across business unit projects to coordinate and procure critical spares and materials meeting required timelines and proactively monitor and maintain required inventory levels.
- assist with tender processes including Request for Proposals (RFP’s) that align with company standards of price, quality, support and reliability.
- manage and develop supplier relations including identifying and sourcing new suppliers, assisting in negotiating contracts, prices and appropriate timelines.
- support the collaboration of the purchasing function between business units continuously build positive working relationships and delivering exceptional customer service to stakeholders.
- contribute to a safe and positive workplace culture through leading by example and supporting people to think, act and behave with EHSR principles at the forefront of all they do.

You:

- have relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in procurement, purchasing or warehouse management along with a highly developed commercial business acumen.
- have knowledge of procurement strategies and understanding of administrative and financial processes required for purchasing and procurement implementation.
- are organised in coordinating tasks, activities and projects with the ability to set realistic deadlines and make timely decisions, whilst maintaining a level of flexibility.
- have experience with modern enterprise resource planning systems, management information systems and database management (for example SAP, Microsoft Access, SQL, Oracle).
- be able to think strategically, conceptually and creatively to analyse and find solutions to problems, at both a strategic and operational level.
- can build collaborative relationships by communicating effectively, seeking to understand and take appropriate and timely actions.

Although not essential, experience working in manufacturing environments will be highly regarded.
