About the Role - Assistant Restaurant Manager:

The Blue Door, an upscale and renowned dining establishment, is seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team. As an Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the overall operations of the restaurant. Your responsibilities will include:

- Motivate, train, and lead a team of service staff to provide exceptional customer service.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality service, and adherence to health and safety standards.
- Maintain a customer-centric focus, addressing customer concerns, and ensuring a positive dining experience for all patrons.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure proper stock levels for smooth restaurant operations.
- Assist in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting to contribute to the restaurant's profitability.
- Create and manage staff schedules, balancing workload and optimising labour costs.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and promote career growth.
- Assist with staff recruitment.
- Support overall business management and strategic planning.
- Prepare and maintain daily sales reports, cash reconciliation and petty cash.
- Promote menu items, create specials and undertake the necessary advertising.

Qualification, Experience, and Attributes Required:

- Proven experience of at least 2 years in a supervisory or assistant management role within the restaurant industry or a relevant qualification.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, including inventory management and cost control.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick, informed decisions.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Excellent food hygiene practices.
- Exceptional customer service skills and a commitment to guest satisfaction.
- High standard of personal hygiene and presentation.
- Punctual, organised, and capable of multitasking with attention to detail.
- Team player with effective communication skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay & Benefits:

- Full-time permanent employment.
- Minimum of 30 hours/week guaranteed.
- Hourly rate ranges between $27.00 - $30.00.
