About the Role As an Advisor, you will be supporting the redesigning and enhancing of current family violence services. Your team will consist of Senior and Lead Advisors; collectively you will inject fresh thinking and agility to enable and catalyse social and economic change to get the best outcomes possible for people affected by family violence. This role involves working directly with non-government organisations, while also navigating government. We are looking for a broad range of skills. You will be expected to provide insight and analysis of systems and services at a national level and work closely with other government agencies. This will include developing and implementing services and system supports and promoting continuous improvement. The role is based in Wellington however there will be a requirement for travel across the country. Skills and Experience We are seeking positive individuals who bring the ability to develop, or have, excellent relationship management skills. You will be able to demonstrate how you contribute to making your working environments great places to be. You will show us how you develop practical solutions for complex problems with a focus on getting the job done
Relevant prior experience in community and social services, or government is advantageous. To be successful you will:

- Be able to embed Te Ao Māori (te reo Māori, tikanga, kawa) into the way we do things at MSD
- Understand and be able to demonstrate actioning the Articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Be comfortable with ambiguity
- Be able to bring a fresh perspective into service design
- Have a demonstrated ability of working collaboratively
- Be able to deliver and work to competing deadlines
- Be an innovative thinker that can provide practical solutions for complex issues

**We also value experience and knowledge in these areas**:

- Support your team in community conversations and facilitating workshops
- Experience in community development and design
- Policy writing
- Analytical / data analysis skills
- Systems thinking and political savviness

These are new challenges for highly capable Advisors. An understanding of family violence or experience within the sector is desirable because you will provide important support systems to our New Zealand communities.

Position Description

**Salary range**: $75,943 - $91,931
