Te Whatu Ora, Waitematā, Specialist Mental Health Services provides support to the communities of North and West Auckland and the Rodney District, a population of over 650,000.

Dedicated to the delivery of public health care, Waitematā, is committed to “best care for everyone” - to the individual, their family-whānau, the community and iwi, and the healthcare workforce.

This position would suit someone with personal lived experience and/or experience of supporting a family-whānau member who has previously or is currently utilising mental health services.

In order to support the design, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of our services, the Family-Whānau Advisor role will take the lead in gathering and evaluating family-whanau voices.

To ensure that family-whānau have a strong voice and engagement across all areas of Adult Mental Health Services, the Family-Whānau Advisor will also collaborate with our clinical and leadership teams on quality improvement initiatives, and actively engage and liaise with NGO networks and community organisations.
