Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
As a member of the Family and Community Health team within the Commissioning Department, the Senior Advisor has shared accountability for a focus on improving and protecting population health across all communities. The Family and Community Health team works alongside other agencies and partners to address the impact of wider determinants of health, supporting whānau, with a focus on tamariki and rangitahi within their communities, to get well, stay well, live well at the population level. The team leads initiatives that place tamariki and rangitahi within the context of their and community and whānau and progress key government priorities. This is a diverse team who deal with diverse portfolios and interesting mahi.
The Senior Advisor, will provide strategic and operational advice, analysis, and recommendations in support of the design, delivery and implementation of policies, priorities, service delivery and programmes of work. You will be expected to contribute to and lead complex pieces of work alongside colleagues inside and outside of the team.

Mōu | About you
You are familiar with commissioning and procurement processes and have good writing skills. Your past experience working with diverse communities, teams and leaders means you are confident communicating with a range of audiences and tailoring your style as appropriate.

**This role requires and/or would benefit from the following**:

- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a willingness to learn
- A Tertiary qualification, in a relevant field or equivalent experience in the health or public sector.
- Experience working with Māori and Pacific communities or other communities who have historically experienced inequitable health outcomes
